A valuable tool in helping your child settle into Year 3 is provided in the ‘Working Together’ booklet enclosed in the prospectus pack that you will receive prior to your child starting school with us.
The booklet includes:
- Curriculum Statement (for whole school)
- Inclusions in the Year 3 curriculum
- Science leaflet for Year 3
- Suggested reading lists for Year 3
- How to encourage your child to read (relevant to all pupils)
- Maths at Fulwell Juniors (relevant to all pupils)
- Maths – Rapid Recall – Identifying the 5 stages of rapid recall (relevant across the school) this includes advice re. Maths homework
Pease note:–
Information about what has been happening at school is communicated each term in our Newsletter. Children are involved as much as possible in producing this communication.
Information about procedures and systemsis included in the yearly addition of the School Brochure.
Ongoing information – Letters are the main way we communicate ongoing information and reminders.
Information about how your child is doing at school is shared:
FORMALLY :-
- Term One - Class teacher will meet parents at a Consultation Evening (usually in October). Set teachers will communicate, if necessary, through the class teacher.
- Term Two – Set teachers will meet parents to discuss progress in Maths and English. Class teachers will communicate any other important information through the set teacher.
- Term 3 – Written Annual Report to Parents. There will be an optional parents’ evening to allow any parents to share concerns following the Annual Report.
- Ongoing – At Review Meetings (pupils on SEN Register)
INFORMALLY :-
We will contact parents either by letter or phone, if we have any concerns we wish to share with them. We ask parents to contact the class teacher in the first instance if they wish to raise a concern or share information.
