LATEST NEWS:
WEEK ENDING 8th January 2010
BAD WEATHER ARRANGEMENTS
Thank you very much to everyone for getting the children in to school this week during the wintery weather. We are very pleased to have stayed open with both the boiler and the staff working at full pelt.
We will continue to keep the school open whilst humanly possibly but parents can also keep up to date by listening to Sun FM radio and Metro each morning for any changes. The Sun Fm website also reflects the latest school closures on www.sun-fm.com

Please continue to ensure children wear suitable footwear and warm, waterproof clothing for travelling to and from school.

Whilst all staff are doing a great job of arriving in one piece every day, we cannot gurantee supervision for pupils before the official starting time of 8.45 a.m. Please do not therefore send pupils earlier than this time.
CHOIR CANCELLED - Friday 8th January
In order that both pupils and staff can travel home as early as possible at the end of the school day there will be no choir this Friday (8th January). School will therefore finish at 3.30 pm. for everyone.
We will review arrangements next week for all other after school clubs depending on the weather
What's on this Year?
In order to help us to help you support your child in the subjects they study across the course of the school year, we have formulated 'at a glance' study guides for each year group. They give a brief overview of the topics we will be studying during each phase. Click on each Year Group link below to be taken to the flyer relative to your child.

CARS IN CHAPMAN STREET : Can we kindly request parents refrain from bringing a car into Chapman Street at the beginning and end of the school day. Chapman Street is a no-through road and vehicles have great difficulty manoeuvring in and out of the area. When the street is full of parents and children, it really is an accident waiting to happen. We try our best to encourage other modes of transport, but if you do have to collect or drop your child by car, please do so in one of the neighbouring streets. We had a near miss earlier in the week with traffic in the Street and until the City Council makes a change to the access arrangements, our hands are tied.

COMMUNITY NURSE DROP-IN SERVICE:
Following the initial 4 week trial period we are pleased to advisethat the drop-in advice service by the school nurse will be continuing until further notice.
This is an opportunity for you to meet with a qualified nursing practitioner for confidential advice and guidance on any medical or health concerns you may have about your child.
