School Council
The House Captains:
At Fulwell Junior School, we operate a House system that recognizes our local heritage. There are four School Houses:
| Penshaw | (red) |
| Wearmouth | (blue) |
| Mill | (yellow) |
| Finchale | (green) |
Children receive ‘house points’ for good behavior, hard work and general attitude. At the end of the school year, the total points accumulated are added up and prizes given to the
House with most points for certain curriculum areas.
Each House has two House Captains (boy and girl), elected by the wider school at the beginning of the academic year. House Captains, historically, are chosen from Year 6 pupils.
The School Council is made of representatives from every year group. Each class votes for a candidate, and the successful pupil represents the views of their class at the weekly Council meetings. The Council regularly get the opportunity to express their views on issues affecting the whole school, such as playground developments, art competitions etc. It is a great way for children to gain an insight into other areas of school life and the Council's contribution is very much appreciated.
We will provide regular updates on what the Council are up to!
